Air Quality Forecast Service for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany A service for forecasting ambient atmospheric pollutants has been implemented at the German Remote Sensing Data Center of the German Aerospace Center DLR-DFD, and is made available via WDC-RSAT. This Service is based on the European Air Pollution Dispersion (EURAD) model system developed at the Rhenish Institute for Environmental Research (RIU) at the University of Cologne. EURAD simulates the physical, chemical and dynamical processes which control emission, production, transport and deposition of atmospheric trace species.
This site comprises an Air Quality Index, following EU regulations, as well as daily maxima and the maximum daily running 8-hour and 24-hour means for these pollutants. City-related information, meteograms and chemograms can be selected from the drop down menu above. The Air Quality Service delivers up to 72 hour forecasts of the pollutants ozone, NO2, PM10, SO2, CO and Benzene for the German state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Additional groundmeasured data for this region is available from the State Agency for Environment, Nature Protection and Geology, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (LUNG). For further information please contact the WDC-Team at DLR. This Service is a collaboration between the Rhenish Institute for Environmental Research (RIU) and the German Aerospace Center DLR. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
