CRISTA validation of ROSE/DLR v2.4

Data from the CRISTA-2 (Cryogenic Infrared Spectrometers and Telescopes for the Atmosphere) mission from 8.-16. August 1997 were used for a validation of the ROSE/DLR model v2.4.

The validation of ROSE/DLR model v2.2 revealed altitude dependent systematic deviations between the model and CHRISTA measurements. ROSE/DLR model v2.4 was the first version with an SAGE II based empirical correction to cope with that and this section gives the validation results for model data derived with that correction.

Information about CRISTA-2 can be found on the CRISTA homepage.  Results of a CRISTA validation campaign are given here. Total ozone columns were calculated from CRISTA-2 derived ozone profiles and assimilated into the ROSE model.  Afterwards, profiles modelled by ROSE were compared with the original CRISTA-2 profiles. The number of CRISTA-2 measurements on each ROSE level and the number of CRISTA-2 profiles used is given here.

All results can be found here.

CRISTA validation of ROSE/DLR v2.2

Data from the CRISTA-2 (Cryogenic Infrared Spectrometers and Telescopes for the Atmosphere) mission from 8.-16. August 1997 were used for a validation of the ROSE/DLR model v2.2.
