Download GOME-ROSE & GOME-SACADA Analyses

give the correct link

Project status

Processing of GOME-ROSE has been completed for the time period 1996-2003. 4D-VAR analysis using SACADA is ongoing. Completion is expected for the end of 2008. MIPAS reanalyses for 2003-2004 will follow early 2009.

Data file format

Daily analyses are archived in NetCDF file format. This format is self-explanatory. We recommend NASA's Panoply tool to read the inventory and plot the data. Filenames are of the form, e.g., GOME_3DS_O3base_19970713.nc, where 'GOME' identifies the instrument (currently only GOME or MIPAS), '3DS' the assimilation model type SACADA. ROSE/DLR analysis are indicated by '3DR'. 'O3base' means analysis of base parameters. 'O3plus' identifies files that give additional information on chemistry (see below). The date of analysis is in Year-Month-Day (YYYYMMDD) format. Valid analysis time is 12:00 GMT.

Content of available O3base and O3plus data files

O3base files:
  • Ozone volume mixing ratio [ppmv]
  • Root mean squared Ozone analysis error [ppmv]

  • Ozone chemical loss rate [ppbv/day]
  • ClOx (Cl + ClO + HOCl) [ppbv]
  • ClONO2 (Chloronitrate) [ppbv]
  • HCl (Hydrochloric Acid) [ppbv]
  • NOx (N + NO + NO2 + NO3 + 2x HO2NO2) [ppbv]
