Aerosol Retrieval Results at WDC-RSAT

A synergetic methodology was developed using ERS-2 data and was adapted to ENVISAT observations. The operational aerosol retrieval service, using ENVISAT data, started in 2005 and is part of the ESA Promote (PROtocol MOniToring for the GMES Service Element: Atmosphere) project.

Daily European maps of aerosol optical thickness and type will be available on a near-real-time basis; global maps will be produced offline. Until then, preliminary examples of the planned products, using ERS-2 and ENVISAT data, can be seen under following links.
